🎐 XC Scribbles 125 - ✨Difference and Repetition: Walking the Same Path with a Different Mind
I have a habit of recording my dreams.
Recalling the details is a long process, and my typing is slow thinking through every sentence, revising every word. But while using my phone, I inevitably tap the wrong spot, and suddenly, everything vanishes.
This has happened more than once.
In the past, I would get angry. Angry at myself, at the phone, and at that sense of utter helplessness. I’d have no choice but to start over from scratch.
But the other day was different. It happened again, just after I had finished reading [Difference and Repetition]. A thought struck me: Why not try walking the same path again, but this time, carrying the "difference" I’ve already prepared?
The result was magical. A passage that originally took nearly twenty minutes to organize was completed in just four minutes the second time around.
It was like a computer running a program: the first cycle gets stuck, but the second is miraculously smooth, only slowing down slightly near the old "glitch" points.
In that moment, I realized that repetition isn't boring at all!
The key is knowing exactly where this cycle differs from the last. When I enter a loop with conscious awareness, I don’t just gain control over the rhythm; I can also correct the flaws of the previous round. It’s just like the movie [Groundhog Day]. Every day is the same, yet every day can be entirely different.
