🎐 XC Scribbles 123 - ✨ Dust: The Third Skin of Our Existence

Everyone hates dust. I used to, as well.

But later, I realized that dust isn't just "dirt"; it’s the fibers left behind after a structure collapses, the dead skin of humanity, the very debris of time.

Knowing this softened my heart. These specks were once whole and crystalline like snow fairies, only they wandered into the wrong era and were pulled back to earth by gravity.

I began to feel that humans possess three layers of skin: the first is our actual skin; the second is the skin we don social roles; and the third is the skin of the space we inhabit.

Dust is that third skin.

Usually, it remains invisible, revealing itself only when light spills in. You’ll find them lying lonely in the sunlight, spinning, drifting, dancing. In that moment, the world suddenly feels less empty.

Sometimes, I watch them for a long time.

Because it is precisely due to these inconspicuous existences that water vapor can condense into rain, light can be rendered visible, and space gains its palpable thickness.

Many things that are discarded, many souls that are shattered, are not without value, they simply haven't been illuminated yet. It’s not that they are important because they are beautiful; it’s that without them, the world wouldn't exist.

Just give them a flicker of light, a stage, and they too will shine.
