Lately, I’ve been watching House of Cards.

To be honest, what fascinates me most isn’t power, nor tactics, it’s the couple.

They’re a perfect match! Not the kind where one advances and the other retreats. Not built on suspicion or constant calculation. But something else entirely: I know what you’re doing. And I know you won’t mess this up!

True teammates. Working toward the same goal, without daily position checks, without having to educate each other. They trust the other person’s strengths, and they take care of their own part.

When things get rough, it’s not about blaming someone for dragging the team down. It’s about quietly tending wounds, restoring strength, and returning to the board.

When things go well, it’s not about personal glory either. It’s about sharing that feeling.

That was a beautiful game!

What I see isn’t their hunger for power. It’s how seriously they play every single round. Sometimes they even choose to place themselves in deliberately difficult positions. Not out of self-punishment, but because a breakthrough earned the hard way carries more weight.

Isn’t that exactly what we do in every incarnation of our lives? We choose a role. We choose the difficulty. We choose our partners. Not to win fast but to play the game fully.

So alliance was never about being weak. It’s about recognizing that some games are only worth playing when two people sit at the board together.
