🎐 XC Scribbles 027 - ✨ Why “Merry” Goes Deeper Than “Happy”
I used to think happy and merry meant the same thing. Just different flavors of “being cheerful.” Later, I realized they live on completely different levels.
Happy is an emotion. I’m happy because I’m eating a slice of cake right now.
Merry is a state. I feel merry because, somehow, life itself feels worth celebrating.
That’s why we say Merry Christmas, not Happy Christmas. Because it’s not about momentary joy. It’s about something closer to sacred joy.
A frequency that says: “I’m alive. You’re alive. And because of that, the world lights up.”
That’s when it hit me, if I live my days as if they’re already worth celebrating, then I could just as well say: Merry Everyday.
Because I’m not blessing the days. The days are blessing me.
