🎐 XC Scribbles 015 -✨ On the Act of Focusing
Recently, while taking photos, something suddenly clicked.
Cameras today are getting smarter and smarter. Autofocus is lightning-fast, almost competitive.
Light, angle, and a sense of story are all “accidentally” captured in that single second. Anyone can press the shutter at a lucky moment.
But manual focus is a completely different experience.
You have to turn slowly, adjust patiently, until light, distance, and feeling gradually line up in your hands. You’re not waiting for a miracle to appear, you’re inviting the image out, step by step.
The final photo may look similar, but the mindset behind it is worlds apart.
Some people spend their whole lives waiting for a superpower. Hoping that one day they’ll suddenly capture the highlight of their life.
Others quietly practice. They adjust focus. They adjust their heart. They accept the ordinary, and then tune the ordinary until it feels just right.
Sometimes the difference isn’t in the photo at all, but in whether you’re waiting for luck or cultivating your own way of seeing.
